Community Engagement for Housing Action Plans
Project Overview
Working in partnership with ECONorthwest, BvP staff led the community engagement process for Housing Action Plans in seven jurisdictions – each tailored to meet the specific needs of their respective communities. BvP achieved this by creating adaptive outreach processes with a variety of successful engagement strategies to appeal to a diverse array of community perspectives. Engagement included community surveys, key stakeholder interviews, social media campaigns, and hosted Town Halls. Stakeholders varied by jurisdiction but often included residents, business owners, school districts, community-based organizations, seniors, youth, churches, elected officials, and other community leaders. Qualitative findings from community input served as a perfect complement to quantitative research, and lent deeper insight into community perspectives on housing accessibility, affordability and other challenges.
