PARKS + OPEN SPACE

Outdoor Pickleball Feasibility Assessment
Seattle Parks & Recreation
Project Overview
BvP led a community engagement process for SPR to help assess the growing demand for pickleball facilities in Seattle. Tasks included conducting stakeholder interviews and focus groups, facilitating online open houses, and developing a wildly successful online survey that garnered nearly 3,400 responses. Broadview Planning also convened a 10-person Advisory Committee that met discuss potential approaches to balancing increased pickleball access with ongoing public interest in other court uses, primarily tennis. The community input collected through community engagement provided SPR with a deeper understanding of public demand for court space and has the potential to inform associated programmatic and budgetary recommendations advanced by the City.
