Project Overview

To fully inform policies and shape housing strategies, Island County partnered with BvP to understand the needs of their highly diverse residents. Despite geographic challenges, the BvP team successfully balanced the diverse perspectives of residents, businesses, and community organizations across the rural landscape. Our adaptive outreach process, featuring a highly effective community survey, key stakeholder interviews, the county’s first social media campaign, and targeted awareness efforts, achieved exceptional community engagement. The valuable findings informed the Housing Element Update of Island County’s Comprehensive Plan and provided critical insights into the County’s pressing housing challenges.
