Historic Preservation Process Improvements

Project Overview
BvP conducted a thorough review of the Seattle’s Historic Preservation Program to better understand program participation constraints and barriers, and identify innovative tools and incentives to encourage the preservation and adaptive reuse of Seattle’s landmark buildings and historic districts. BvP staff conducted extensive stakeholder interviews to comprehensively understand potential challenges and opportunities from the local community, and undertook a thorough review of existing policies and processes. Recommendations for improvements centered around livability, highlighting the role of historic preservation as part of a vibrant, healthy city.
