Crafting a Residential Building Decarbonization Implementation Plan for Washington State

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Washington’s Residential Building Decarbonization Implementation Plan identifies policies and actions needed to achieve the State’s residential decarbonization goals for 2030 and 2050. Together with Commerce, AECOM, and an array of stakeholders, Broadview Planning served as a key contributor to the development of the Plan. Specifically, Broadview Planning led an intensive engagement process that included representatives from state and local agencies, utilities, trade organizations, construction firms, workforce development groups, labor unions, lending institutions, distribution companies, and community-based organizations. This effort helped elevate best practices, revealed gaps within the suite of programs currently available to support single-family and multi-family residential decarbonization, and provided the broader Plan development process with pragmatic and tactical guidance.
